These paintings are mini vacations,
windows to another place where you can
relax and find peace of mind in a
moment. I invite you to share my
enthusiasm and appreciation for the
outdoors and the memories they inspire.

For years I painted rugged landscapes
inspired by places I hiked. I'd plan my
work on location. That all changed when
my friend was injured and we had to help
him hike out of the forest. After he was
safely back I wanted to know what we
missed.

So I painted the place I wanted to find.

That experience started a whole new tradition in my studio. Now my
work includes both the lush, beautiful places I have visited and those I
invent from memory. The paintings are completely original places that
make staisfying escapes.
